[edit] What's this Stub Footer List?

A stub list is, well, a list of the different stubs footers you'll happen upon through your travels here. They'll say something like This is a stub. You can help make Sanctuary Wiki better by expanding it.

Basically, they let people know that the entry needs to be addressed. It is desired that people, such as yourself, have the will and the way to help the seeds blossom by adding content to that stub entry.

At the same time however, should you run across something that you know needs to be defined, but don't have that information, then it becomes necessary to create a stub. Hence we use the stub footer syntax that is listed in this document.

As there are many different major categories, so there are different stub footers that reflect these categories. Hence this list. Take a look!

When editing an entry or entries, please observe the following format: {{''category''-stub}}

Replace category with the appropriate category title, such as those in the list below.

The stub names should be self explanatory. To look at what will be shown, click the stub if you want to see what the stub will look like when you place it on the page.

[edit] Creating a New Stub Footer Message

You are not restricted to using the above, pre-defined stub messages. There may be times where the above stub message templates do not suffice, simply because the category your are looking for does not have a stub footer message.

To create a new stub message, follow the directions.

1. Ensure that you are editing a document that needs a new stub. Check with the list above. If the list above does not have the stub message you seek, then continue.
2. Type in the new stub name in the following format, supplimenting category for the name of the category you wish to use:

1. At this point, you can either click Save Page or Show Preview.
   1. If you're not done editing the page you're working on at that point, click Show Preview.
      1. Using your mouse, right click on the link that reads: Template:Category-stub (or similar).
      2. From that menu, select Open Link in New Window (or the equivalent).
      3. Jump to step 4.
   2. If you're done editing the page, select the appropriate options that you want (i.e. This is a minor edit or Watch this page.) Then click Show Preview.
      1. On the page that generates, click on the Template:Category-stub (or similar).
      2. Jump to step 4.
2. To create the new stub footer message, copy the following text and paste in the text box:

1. Edit it so that the CATEGORY word is changed out with the name of the category you wish to create the stub footer message for.
2. Now click Show Preview to see your handiwork or Save Page to save the template stub.
3. Should you have to edit it again, you may access it through the My Contributions link on the top of the page. It will be listed there, find it and click on the appropriate stub footer template.
